Six-year-old Ebony Meek was knocked down on her way to school in the UK earlier this year. She was flown to Leeds General Infirmary on a Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter. She suffered head injuries and bruised lungs, but has made a full recovery.
Although Ebony has no memory of the accident, she has been determined to meet and thank all those who helped on the day. Accompanied by her family, she visited the Yorkshire Air Ambulance base at Nostell, near Wakefield, where she met and thanked the pilot and paramedics who airlifted and treated her.
Her mother said: “The air ambulance was there in minutes. She has no memory of being in the helicopter but it was really brilliant for her to see it and to meet the pilot and paramedics. They were just fantastic. She has been determined to thank everyone who helped that day and we are just so grateful to them and proud of her.”
Ebony’s school has also been raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
