Pedestrian airlifted to hospital
A woman was attended by paramedics from ER24 after she was hit by a taxi near Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa on 27 January.
A woman was left critically injured on after she was hit by a taxi near Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa on 27 January. Paramedics from ER24, along with responders from other services, attended the scene.
On arrival, the woman was found lying in the middle of the road while the taxi had stopped a few metres away. Paramedics assessed the victim and found that she had sustained serious injuries and was in a critical condition, while several passengers from the taxi had sustained minor injuries. ER24 paramedics treated the pedestrian and provided her with advanced life support care while other services attended the patients from the taxi.
Once treated, the critically injured patient was airlifted by the ER24 helicopter to Johannesburg Hospital for urgent care. The remaining patients were transported by other services on scene.
