Kern County Fire Department (KCFD) recently played host to a team from local news agency KGET 17, who shot footage as one of the Department’s firefighters was re-certified for hoist rescue training. To add to the action captured from the ground, KCFD’s public information office rode onboard the helicopter and used a GoPro camera to film the training.
KCFD has two identical Bell Super Huey helicopters with water dropping and hoist rescue capabilities (Helicopter 408 and Helicopter 407).
