NEWS ANALYSIS: US air-ambulance company Angel Medflight recently received trademark protection for the phrase ‘Bedside-to-Bedside’. What prompted the company to seek this, and how are other companies whose services fall under the same category and who are using the phrase going to deal with it? Femke van Iperen explores

On 21 March, the Auditor General of Ontario Jim McCarter released his report on the Ornge group of companies, entitled Ornge Air Ambulance and Related Services. According to McCarter, the Ontario government has given Ornge more than $700 million since 2006 to provide ambulance services in the province without sufficiently monitoring how well Ornge was doing its job or whether it was following appropriate public sector business practices.
