3W-International unaffected by 3W-Modellmotoren bankruptcy, company says
3W-International GmbH has confirmed that it will be unaffected by the recent move by its production service provider 3W-Modellmotoren GmbH to file for bankruptcy.Karsten Schudt, Managing Director of 3W-International, issued a statement reassuring clients that the UAS engine supplier is covered due to both companies operating independently of each other. Schudt asserted that the decision to declare bankruptcy ‘didn't catch us entirely unprepared’. According to Schudt, the company had believed that some of 3W-Modellmotoren's executive management had their eyes on other corporate goals and were no longer interested in regular deliveries to 3W-International. 3W-International said that no solution was reached following ‘copious discussion’, so the company established new production options, with Sky Power GmbH being established earlier this year as a as performance partner and as its own production service provider. “We were informed about the bankruptcy filing by 3W-Modellmotoren's executive management. We maintained silence about the filing, but this week we received the first calls from our customers about the extent to which this bankruptcy impacts us. That's why we saw ourselves compelled to make a public statement about this development,” Schudt added.
