Air Alliance Medflight UK gains quality mark
Germany-headquartered Air Alliance Medflight has announced that its UK wing, Air Alliance Medflight UK, has been awarded accreditation by EURAMI.
Germany-headquartered Air Alliance Medflight has announced that its UK wing, Air Alliance Medflight UK, has been awarded accreditation by EURAMI. The firm said it regards this as an ‘incredible achievement’ as it commenced operations less than 12 months ago. It began conducting missions from facilities in Birmingham International Airport in May 2016.
Managing director Wolfgang Krombach said: “I’m delighted that the team has achieved EURAMI accreditation in such a short time. The whole team has worked extremely hard to set up the UK base and integrate all aspects of medical operations into the Air Alliance Group. They thoroughly deserve the recognition that this accreditation brings.”
The EURAMI website explains that as standard, providers can only register for accreditation after being operational for two years and having completed 250 patient transports. However, alternative criteria include being able to prove previous operational air ambulance capability or experience in air charter for aeromedical transport activity. Air Alliance commented that its experienced UK aeromedical team, which includes CAMTS-EU site surveyor David Quayle as clinical services manager, were able to demonstrate to the EURAMI board that they met the necessary criteria, thereby allowing them to apply within just six months of commencing operations.
Air Alliance Medflight UK’s certificate for long-range/intercontinental fixed-wing accreditation includes a medical endorsement for adult critical care and is valid until 15 March 2020.
In related news, EURAMI has awarded reaccreditation to Quick Air Jet Charter and Pro-Jet Ambulance Service. Both firms are based at Cologne Bonn Airport, Germany. Capital Air Ambulance, UK, has also been reaccredited, with EURAMI noting that it is the first company to receive an endorsement for EMS special care. Capital’s initial accreditation was granted in May 2013 and was valid for three years, but the firm was granted two extensions prior the recent renewal of the certificate.
