Airlift for injured horse
A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter flew to the rescue of a rider and her horse on 14 March
A Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) helicopter flew to the rescue of a rider and her horse in the Angeles National Forest, California, US, on 14 March. The horse had fallen down around 100 ft (30 m) from the Santa Clara Truck Trail and was seriously wounded; the woman fell around half that distance and suffered only minor injuries. After reaching the canyon, the LACoFD air crew members, along with a veterinarian picked up for the mission, had to hike and repel down to reach the injured animal. After being tranquilised, the horse was airlifted and taken for further treatment.
