Helicopter training service provider Coptersafety has announced a new Chief Executive Officer, Erkka Suvikumpu, who has taken over the role from the company’s interim CEO Christer Niemi. “Erkka has a broad understanding of the aviation industry and a strong knowledge of developing digital businesses. He has proven experience in leading people and larger organizations and also managing complex entities. Erkka’s latest track record in leading a significant transformation at Safera demonstrates his leadership skills. I am confident his solid international business-to-business background will help in growing Coptersafety’s operations,” said Antti Keränen, Chairman of Coptersafety.

Suvikumpu (48) has been the CEO of Safera since 2017 and has worked more than 10 years in various business development and new venture related VP level positions for Finnish airline Finnair Plc. The last position he held was Vice President, Business Development & Quality, Technical Division.
