EagleMed critical care air medical transport company has appointed Dr David W. Fairbanks as medical director for the company’s Wyoming base.
“We are pleased to have a physician of Dr Fairbanks’ skill and experience to head our medical operations in the area,” said EagleMed president Larry Bugg, adding: “His extensive clinical experience in family and emergency medicine is an additional benefit for our patients.”
Dr Fairbanks presently serves as the director of emergency medicine and chief of staff for South Big Horn County Hospital in Basin, Wyoming, and is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed a trauma surgical internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
A decorated veteran of the US Air Force, Dr Fairbanks was deployed for four tours as a flight surgeon during Operation Desert Storm, where he was named 7th Wing’s Flight Surgeon of the Year. He serves as the medical director for the Physician Assistant Program for the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, on the board of directors for the Utah Academy of Family Physicians, the College of Science & Health Advisory Board for Utah Valley University, and the Science and Mathematics College Volunteer Leadership Council for Brigham Young University.
