FAI wins Air Ambulance Provider of the Year

The International Travel Insurance Journal (ITIJ) has announced the winner of the ITIJ Air Ambulance Provider of the Year Award for 2012. The award was given to Germany-based FAI Rent-A-Jet AG, and presented during a special ceremony at the conclusion of the finale dinner of the International Travel Insurance Conference in Barcelona, Spain, on 1 November. Volker Lemke, director of sales and marketing at FAI, collected the award.

The ITIJ Awards are voted for by the readers of ITIJ, who represent the global travel insurance industry, including air ambulance providers, underwriters, assistance companies and cost containers. The companies with the most votes go through to be the awards finalists and each one then submits a presentation to an independent judging panel, which decides on the ultimate winner in each category. This year’s award was presented by Dr Bettina Vadera, co-chair of EURAMI – the European Aero-Medical Institute. The other finalists in the air ambulance category were Airlink Ambulance and REVA, both based in the US.
