Four additional medical aircraft for Polish fleet

Poland’s state air medical rescue service LPR (Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe) has taken delivery of four new H135 helicopters, joining a fleet that already boasted 23 of the earlier EC135 P2+ model.
The delivery was preceded by a ‘technical acceptance’ process, which took place in December at manufacturer Airbus Helicopters’ site in Donauwörth, Germany. The machines were subsequently transferred to the main LPR base in Warsaw. Alongside sophisticated avionics, they feature full NVG certification and a fully equipped EMS cabin. Airbus provided training to four pilots trained on the differences between the H135 and EC135 P2+, who will go on to train their colleagues.
The agreement for the delivery of the four helicopters was signed in August 2015, following a competitive public tender procedure. The purchase cost, in excess of 114 million zloty, was co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund. The new machines will be deployed to new HEMS bases in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Opole and Sokołów Podlaski.
