Major Robert Wilson says that airmen flying missions every day, or coalition forces going outside ‘the wire’ on patrols, can ‘rest a little easier or fight a little harder knowing that they have a group of highly motivated guys back here [Bagram Airfield] that will risk themselves to go get them’.

For the first time in Afghanistan, these pararescuemen of the 83rd ERQS do this working hand-in-hand with the US Army CH-47 Chinooks.
