New HEMS role for INAER France
INAER France (INAER) announced at the end of March that it has won a six-year contract under which it will provide helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) to the Centre and Haute-Normande regions of France.
INAER France (INAER), part of the Avincis Group – a world-wide provider of emergency aerial services – announced at the end of March that it has won a six-year contract under which it will provide helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) to the Centre and Haute-Normande regions of France. The country’s ministry for health is currently putting in place new operating procedures based on regional contracts, and INAER has been designated a preferred partner for hospitals.
Under the contract, INAER will provide a total of six helicopters – four new EC135s and two AW190Es – to hospitals in Châteauroux, Dreux, Rouen, Tours, Orléans and Blois, with all the aircraft expected to be in place by the middle of 2016. The company already provides HEMS to Châteauroux and Dreux, and these contracts have been renewed. An entirely new base will be built at Rouen, while helicopter services between currently operational bases will increase. The contract includes an option for a one-year extension, and is the largest such contract for French aerial medical services.
Regarding the contract, INAER France’s CEO Frédéric Goig said: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this mission. The provision of HEMS missions requires total precision and investment in flight safety, whilst remaining competitive. INAER strives to meet this challenge in its growth strategy. The confidence that we have received from Centre and Haute-Normandie encourages us to continue in this strategic direction.”
