New MedSTAR helicopter completed by Metro Aviation
Metro Aviation has delivered an H135 to Washington Centre’s MedSTAR Transport.
Metro Aviation, a Louisiana, US-based helicopter completion service, has delivered an H135 to Washington Centre’s MedSTAR Transport.
The new helicopter has been outfitted for medical use by Metro with a standard medical interior. It also has several custom add-ons, including a Cardiosave mount for hemodynamic support and another for satellite-tracking, push-to-talk radio, flight data monitoring and voice and video recording system IRIS, produced by Outerlink.
“We’re excited to get a newer aircraft. It’s the first design to secure our ventilator system,” said Heather Stamey, Assistant Executive Director of MedStar Transport. “We really enjoyed the whole project and can’t say enough about the customer service at Metro Aviation.”
MedSTAR Transport attends to, on average, around 10,000 patients-per-year and the new H135 joins its fleet of four air medical helicopters.
