On 21 June, Swiss air rescue service Rega received the first two of six H145 helicopters it has ordered from Airbus Helicopters. The two new aircraft will start duties this autumn from the Bern and Basel bases, once their medical interiors have been fitted, with the rest of the order scheduled for delivery by mid-2019.
A Rega delegation headed to the Airbus plant in Donauworth in Germany to take delivery of the helicopters. Rega's CEO, Ernst Kohler, said: "With the H145, we are continuing our success story and making sure that we continue to provide our patients with them over the next few years reliable and professional help.” Rega has invested around CHF52 million in the six helicopters, including medical equipment.
