Rescue caught on video
Mountain Rescue Aspen, the Colorado Army National Guard and Flight For Life rescue a man who fell while climbing.
A 20-strong team incorporating personnel from Mountain Rescue Aspen, the Colorado Army National Guard and Flight For Life were involved in the rescue of a 59-year-old man who had fallen while climbing North Maroon Peak, near Aspen, Colorado, US, in September. The man, one of a party of four, had been about 200 ft (61 m) from the summit when he fell, sustaining a broken jaw and multiple other injuries in the process. Teams successfully retrieved the injured man, then transported him to Aspen Valley Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. A video of the rescue was captured and can be viewed below:
