Rescue reservists return from Afghanistan
Around 50 US Air Force reservists from the 920th Rescue Wing have returned from performing personnel recovery duties in Afghanistan.
Around 50 US Air Force reservists from the 920th Rescue Wing have returned from performing personnel recovery duties in Afghanistan. The soldiers had been in the country for four months.
The reservists had been deployed as helicopter aviation, maintenance and support personnel. They performed and enabled personnel rescue and recovery operations using Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters. The missions the reservists completed were in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and NATO’s Resolute Support missions.
The reservist airmen returned to their families in an Air Force C-17 Globemaster.
