Rooftop rescue message saves three

There is more than one way to attract the attention of potential rescuers. A US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations UH-60 crew was conducting a search and rescue operation over mountains in Puerto Rico when it noticed the word ‘HELP’ painted onto the rooftop of a building. The road to the house had been swept away by Hurricane Maria, so the crew landed their Black Hawk on a nearby mountain top and trekked down to the house. An Air and Marine Operations EMT was able to assess the family members in medical distress and stabilise three patients in the house.
