TechEagle and AIIMS Jodhpur trial drone deliveries

An initial flight has already been undertaken between Sirohi and the remote village of Waloriya using TechEagle’s Vertiplane X3 drone
Drone developer TechEagle has partnered with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jodhpur to transport medicine, medical supplies, and patient samples by drone.
The partnership will focus on serving the tribal population of the the Sirohi District of Rajasthan, and will employ TechEagle’s Vertiplane X3 hybrid electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) drone.
The partners have already conducted a maiden flight from the city of Sirohi to Waloriya – a distance of approximately 35km, which it covered in less than 20 minutes – approximately six times faster than the same journey would take by road.
“Time is the most crucial dimension when we talk about emergency healthcare as every second is important in such a scenario, and by deploying innovative solutions such as drones a lot of time could be saved and, in turn, lives,” said Anshu Abhishek, Chief Operating Officer at TechEagle.
AIIMS Jodhpur’s counterpart in Rishikesh (AIIMS Rishikesh) has also been trialing the delivery of medicines by drone in the state of Uttarakhand.
