Parallel Flight Technologies has signed a contract to deliver 50 heavy-lift drones to India’s UAV Systems

Deliveries are due to begin in 2024. The contract also covers the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul for the new fleet to UAV Systems and its ‘end users’.

Parallel Flight’s flagship aircraft is the Firefly, a 122kg drone designed for use in various heavy-lift sectors, ‘including real-time and complex healthcare logistics, tactical support for firefighters and first responders, industrial logistics and other critical missions’. It is capable of carrying a 45kg payload for up to 1.6 hours.

Arab Khan, CEO of UAV Systems, stated that his company sees the deal as ‘just the beginning’, adding that: “We see the demand for Parallel’s units to grow to 500+ over the next few years.”

India’s drone sector is growing rapidly, with increasing interest in the technology across the medical logistics and law enforcement sectors.
