FEC Heliports Equipment has announced that its first HEMS-Station enabled secondary landing site has become fully operational, and is being operated by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, in Hereford, UK.
“Hereford Hospital’s helipad isn’t currently night capable, the temporary landing site means we can reach and treat patients at a Hereford-based incident scene after dark,” said Julian Spiers, Airbase Supervisor for the charity’s Strensham airbase in Worcestershire. “We can then rapidly convey patients in critical need of specialist care to a major trauma centre, at either Bristol or Coventry.”
The HEMS-Station system means that 10 HEM-Star portable helipad lights can be stored and charged at a secondary landing site.
