Survitec secure SNSM lifejacket order
Survitec has announced that it will be supplying French search and rescue organisation SNSM with 2,000 bespoke Crewsaver lifejackets.
Search and rescue safety equipment manufacturer Survitec has announced that it will be supplying French search and rescue organisation Les Sauveteurs en Mer (SNSM) with 2,000 bespoke Crewsaver lifejackets.
The company worked closely with SNSM to design the lifejackets, as well as throughout the trial phases. The lifejacket developed for SNSM is an ErgoFit 3D Twin Chamber lifejacket, similar to Survitec’s Fusion 3D lifejackets such as the ErgoFit and Seacrewsader 3D, and is SOLAS approved. Survitec will provide two colourways of jacket, one for training and one for missions. According to Benjamin Serfati, Purchasing Director at SNSM, the service’s main goal when creating the life jackets was to keep their rescuers safe and comfortable.
The lifejackets are equipped with a twin-chamber bladder design and ergonomic cover which moulds to the shape of the wearer providing comfort and increased freedom of movement. It also features a newly designed slim-click fastening buckle, AIS attachment point, safety knife pocket, built-in Crewsaver surface lifejacket light and buddy line.
“We’re excited to be working in partnership with SNSM,” David Duffin, Survitec Sales Director, said. “It is a highly respected search and rescue organisation and the contract represents a real stamp of approval for our business. It is a great endorsement of our equipment that an international body such as the SNSM, which requires the very best for their rescue volunteers, would seek us out.”
