Woman rescued from mountain by Coastguard
Holyhead Coastguard, UK, were scrambled to help with the evacuation of a 76-year-old woman who had injured herself while out hiking on Cader Idris near Dolgellau, Wales.
Holyhead Coastguard, UK, were scrambled to help with the evacuation of a 76-year-old woman who had injured herself while out hiking on Cader Idris near Dolgellau, Wales.
The woman had been descending from the summit with a walking group when she fell, injuring both her arms and hitting her head.
“With both arms injured and with considerable pain from suspected fractures, the lady was unable to continue on foot, and assistance from the Coastguard helicopter R936 was requested by the Team call-handler,” a statement from Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team stated.
The Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team provided treatment on the scene, assisting paramedics and with getting the injured women winched into the Coastguard helicopter. She was said to be in good spirits when the team located her, and she was swiftly flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd for further assessment and treatment.
