Coptersafety offers new EASA-compliant MFC course
Finnish air ambulance company Coptersafety has announced that it will be launching a new two-day training course to help helicopter operators meet new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations.
Finnish air ambulance company Coptersafety has announced that it will be launching a new two-day training course to help helicopter operators meet new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations.
The EASA announced that from 2019, it will be implementing new regulations concerning Maintenance Check Flight (MCF) operations. Coptersafety’s new course, revealed at Helitech International 2018, will tackle the new MCF regulations over two days. It will be held at the service’s training facility at Helsinki Airport in January 2019.
Coptersafety has designed the course for current and future pilots operating within EASA member states, as well as for helicopter maintenance technicians. Operators are able to send one technician free to the course per each attending pilot.
”For us, EASA’s upcoming MCF standards are just a starting point to look into the operations of a safe and secure Maintenance Check Flight. Our operator customers do not want to take the easy way out, why would we?” said Mikko Dahlman, CEO, Coptersafety.
Going into course specifics, Coptersaftey explained that participants will train on the ground and in a full-flight (level D) simulator, tailored for AW139 and H145 helicopter type surroundings.
”Our operator customers want to minimise not only unexpected operational costs that may stem from inadequately conducted MCF flights, but also the potential hazards they entail,” explained Mikko Kallio, Head of Training and Development and leader of the course.
