Helicopter and fixed-wing interior manufacturer Aerolite has announced that it has received US Federal Aviation Administration Supplemental Type Certificate for its Leonardo AW169 air medical interior – the lightweight medical interior configurations had been previously been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency.
“The FAA STC will allow us to offer our medical interiors also in the US. We are excited to have received this STC. It allows us to plan and deliver,” said an official of Aerolite America. According to the company, it has already supplied around 24 of the medical interiors to customers, mostly in Europe.
The interior has quick change capabilities with provision for one intensive care patient and two minor injured patients and up to six medical crew seats. It also features: oxygen supply of 3'000l (3x5l) and medical air supply; rails/provisions for medical devices and IV bags; medical storage cabinet; baggage net for loose equipment; power system with 12/14V DC and 24/28V DC supply power.
