Crew of rescue helicopter laid to rest in UAE
Two of the four airmen who died when their AW139 rescue helicopter crashed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been laid to rest. Jasim Abdullah Al Tunaiji, navigator of the aircraft, and pilot Saqr Saeed Al Yamahi, died during a rescue mission at Jebel Jais, when it is believed that the helicopter rotor blades struck the world’s longest zipline ride while flying to the rescue of an Indian national who had suffered an injury nearby.
Hameed Mohamed Obaid Al Zaabi, co-pilot, and paramedic and winchman Mark Roxburgh also died in the accident. Video footage of the accident shows the helicopter spinning out of control before plummeting into the side of a mountain and bursting into flames.
