As of 1 January, Germany’s air rescue organisation ADAC Luftrettung has had an aircraft stationed at Heinrich Braun Hospital (HBK) in Zwickau. In August 2018, Landesdirektion Sachsen awarded the contract for the operation of the station to ADAC Luftrettung after a Europe-wide tender. The contract of operation runs for eight years.
“We are pleased that … we can now provide quick help from the air for patients in Western Saxony as well as Leipzig. A very experienced and highly professional crew is now available to offer optimal emergency medical care to the people in the region,” commented Frédéric Bruder, Managing Director of ADAC Luftrettung. Heinrich Braun Hospital Clinic director Rüdiger Glaß added: “We are also looking forward to the cooperation and are confident that with the know-how of the ADAC Luftrettung we will be able to continue to guarantee high-quality emergency care in the region.”
