The David B. O'Maley College of Business, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University based in Florida, US is to hold an essential course for flight department leaders and managers entitled ‘The Business of Business Aviation’. The course, which is due to take place between 3-7 June in Daytona Beach, will be conducted by aviation professionals from each of its sponsors: Mente Group, Aero Law Group PC and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mente Group provides private aviation consulting services, whilst Aero Law Group PC provide transactional legal services to airlines and aircraft owners and operators – together with Embry-Riddle university professors, the speakers from each firm will educate aviation managers and potential managers on the intricacies of accounting, budgeting, corporate finances, and the legal and tax issues involved with aircraft acquisition and operation.
The instructors include Cole White, Vice-President of Strategic Consulting, Mente Group; Kevin Austin of Aero Law Group PC – founder of the firm; John Longshore, Associate Professor of Management from Embry-Riddle in the Management, Marketing and Operations Department; and Bert Zarb, Professor of Accounting and Chair, Department of Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Information Sciences at Embry-Riddle, Daytona College of Business.
"This course is a must-attend for those in the industry and those breaking into the corporate flying industry," said White. "The week-long curriculum also covers aircraft selection, the transactional process and pitfalls for aircraft acquisition and disposition, and asset life-cycle management."
