On 29 March, Centric Air Ambulance held its business to business launch for insurance firms, NGOs, parastatals, hospitals and corporates at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi to raise awareness of the company and the service it proposes to offer.
The launch was officiated by Centric Air Ambulance CEO Peter Nduati, together with the whole Centric Air Ambulance senior management team and will provide emergency medical services across Africa and the rest of the world.
The fleet consists of seven aircraft – five fixed-wing helicopters, including the Citation Sovereign 680, Citation Excel 560, Citation Bravo 550, King Air 350 and a King Air 200, and two rotary-wing helicopters, the H125 and the H145 – all of which are accredited and fully-equipped with the necessary medical equipment and technology.
Centric employs highly-specialised medical personnel, including anaesthetists, critical care nurses, emergency care specialists, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). It will also manage all aspects of the medical transfer process by co-ordinating with the patient’s physician, departing and receiving facilities and insurance provider. In addition, it will operate a 24/7 communications centre, which, coupled with Centric’s experienced flight crews, will provide real-time updates during emergency evacuations.
“In the modern day we live in, medical services are held dear to most of us. The need for quality and reliable medical services is on the rise. It is with this in mind that Centric Air Ambulance comes into play,” said Nduati, speaking during the launch. “When distance, speed and patient condition are beyond the capabilities of a ground ambulance or commercial flights; aeromedical evacuation is the next best and only solution to saving lives. Not only does it guarantee timely and professional emergency response, it also enables treatment and stabilisation of patients onsite and on transit.”
