Airbus is making a few changes to its senior leadership team – a move which aims to ‘shape the company’s next chapter’, officials say.

Airbus SE detailed that Antoine Bouvier – previously CEO at MBDA – will now report to the CEO of Airbus Guillaume Faury as Head of Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions and Public Affairs.

Faury commented on the change: “Antoine Bouvier has demonstrated his leadership at the helm of MBDA since 2007, firmly establishing it as Europe’s premier missile company. Antoine brings a rich experience in the Aerospace and Defence sector, as well as a strategic vision in an international environment.”

Airbus, BAE Systems PLC and Leonardo S.p.A’s joint venture MBDA, will therefore replace Antoine Bouvier with Eric Béranger. Béranger brings a wealth of experience to the position, having held several leadership positions at Airbus Defence and Space.

Final changes to the senior leadership team see Patrick de Castelbajac appointed to Head of Region Asia-Pacific for Airbus. In this capacity, Castelbajac succeeds Jean-Marc Nasr, who was recently appointed Executive Vice President Space Systems within Airbus Defence and Space. Castelbajac has also been named Head of Sales Asia-Pacific for the company’s commercial aircraft business as of 1 July 2019. Faury noted that Castelbajac’s ‘strong business knowledge and proximity to shareholders’ are all assets that are necessary in successfully advancing Airbus’ business in ‘this dynamic part of the world’.

Faury has expressed his congratulations to all new senior members, wishing them all success in their new roles. “Today’s senior leadership announcements are further important elements to shape the company’s next chapter,” he added. All changes are to take effect from 1 June 2019.
