Helicopter support business Patria, which also works with Norwegian Bell 412 helicopters and maintains Norwegian AW101 rescue helicopters, is to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support to the Norwegian Police’s new fleet of AW169 helicopters as per an agreement signed with Leonardo Helicopters.

The new fleet of AW169s allows the Norwegian Police to enhance capabilities and readiness against threats such as terrorism and other crimes, and the new layout of the AW139 helicopters also allows the transport of six people plus crew. The fleet will perform a range of tasks including observation, surveillance, special operations team transport and airborne sniping, and ensuring high versatility with quick and easy reconfiguration between roles.
