Record figures for FAI air ambulance division
The air ambulance division of German special mission operator FAI rent-a-jet AG has announced that it achieved record revenues of over €45 million in 2016.
The air ambulance division of German special mission operator FAI rent-a-jet AG has announced that it achieved record revenues of over €45 million in 2016. The figure represents a seven-per-cent rise when compared to the previous year. It is the first time, according to the company, that it has generated more than 10,000 combined flying hours across its fleet of 11 air ambulance jet aircraft.
FAI added two additional planes to the fleet at the beginning of 2016 – a Learjet 60 and a Challenger 604. These additions helped the service to compete 892 missions and airlift more than 1,000 patients from 329 destinations in 123 countries.
“Despite the negative effect the oil and gas crisis in the Middle East has had on the growth of FAI’s air ambulance business, we achieved a very successful 2016,” said FAI chairman Siegfried Axtmann. He added that he believes the business expects to grow a further 10 per cent in 2017.
