Man rescued after 14 hours on van roof
A man trapped on the roof of his van by flood water was rescued by RACQ LifeFLight Rescue after over being stranded for 14 hours.
A man trapped on the roof of his van by flood water was rescued by RACQ LifeFLight Rescue after over being stranded for 14 hours. The man had attempted to drive his removal van through the flood waters south of Miles, Queensland, Australia at around 23:00 hrs before becoming trapped. He then climbed onto his roof to wait for rescue.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter arrived at the scene at 12:20 hrs the next day after a Flood and Swiftwater Rescue team was unable to reach him. The crew was able to locate the man and winched a paramedic down to him. The victim was then attached to a harness and winched back up.
The patient was suffering from dehydration, but was uninjured, said the service.
