The European Aeromedical Institute (EURAMI) has published a statement advising that Island Rescue is not a EURAMI-accredited provider.
Island Rescue’s website describes the company as a ‘critical care air ambulance operation based in the Turks and Caicos Islands’. It further states: “Our operations are accredited through our partners by EURAMI.”
However, EURAMI has explained that it is not possible for the operations from one company to be accredited through partnerships with EURAMI-accredited providers. Island Rescue CEO Patrick Riel has apologised for the ‘unfortunate’ phrasing, said EURAMI, and has confirmed that the website will be updated as soon as possible.
UPDATE 19 APRIL:
The claim has since been removed from the Island Rescue website.
