Wear your flight suit, says HAI

Helicopter Association International (HAI) has focused on the safety benefits of flight suits as its rotor safety tip of the week.
Flight suits serve a vital role in protecting the safety of pilots and crew members, said HAI. Properly fitted suits should be long-sleeved, the Association said, and made of fire-resistant material such as Nomex.
HAI added: “Flight suits should fit loosely, so they create a layer of air protection between the user and the garment. They should be zipped up, with gloves tucked into the sleeves, collar up to protect the neck, and legs zipped and covering the upper part of the boots. Let’s all do our part to zip up in Nomex for our next flight so we protect the most important asset in any helicopter — the human.”
