AAMS elects new board
The US-based Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) has revealed the make-up of its newly elected board.
Martin Arkus, chair of the AAMS Nominations Committee, announced the new and re-elected board members who will serve until 2019. Regions 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 were up for re-election, said Arkus, as well as two at-large director seats and the associate director.
Scott Kirby, CEO at LifeMed Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska, was re-elected as Region 1 director. Dr Shannon Sovndal, Medical Director at North Colorado Med Evac, in Denver, Colorado, was re-elected as the Region 2 director. Susan Smith has kept her seat as Region 6 director, a role she’ll hold alongside being programme director at Carilion Clinic Life-Guard in Roanoke, Virginia. Elected as Region 7 director is Dr Russell MacDonald, medical director, quality and research at Ornge Transport Medicine in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, while Graeme Field, chief superintendent at Aeromedical and Medical Retrieval, NSW Air Ambulance Service in New South Wales, Australia, will continue as Region 8 director. Frankie Hurst, programme manager at AirMed, University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, has been re-elected as one at-large director, while Seth Myers president of Air Evac EMS in O’Fallon, Missouri, has been elected to the second at-large post. Meanwhile, David Richardson, senior vice-president of the Air Medical Service Division at Air Methods, in Englewood, Colorado has been named as the newly elected associate director for the AAMS board.
