United Helicopters International Group has announced the signing of three contracts with Russian Helicopters, part of the Rostec State Corporation, to deliver a total of 10 helicopters to operators in China. One of these contracts will see United Helicopters receive five Ansat helicopters in medevac configuration to send on to Chinese contractors. The first batch of helicopters will be transferred by the end of 2017. This is the first time that a medically equipped Ansat will be operated in China, says United Helicopters.
Li Xuefeng, managing director of United Helicopters, spoke about the boom that the Chinese medical market is currently experiencing, and asserted that he believed there would also be widespread use of medical aviation. “The Chinese government, showing concern for its citizens and constantly improving the level of safety and quality of life, plans to buy a lot of such rotorcrafts in the near future to fully meet the needs of the population,” he stated.
The other contracts signed will see three MI-171 in cargo configuration and two firefighter Ка-32А11ВС delivered to end-users in China in 2017-2018.
