Tourist nearly drowns learning to surf
She was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a 25-year-old Dutch woman after she nearly drowned while learning to surf at Seventeen Seventy on 28 November.
The woman was on holiday from the Netherlands and was taking part in a group surfing lesson when the accident occurred.
Local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were first on the scene, said Lifeflight, and treated the woman before transferring her to the State Emergency Services grounds at Seventeen Seventy, where she was met by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter. She was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
