A US Coast Guard crew stationed at Coast Guard Sector San Diego assisted with the rescue of a family whose house had been overtaken by a mudslide.
The crew used a MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter to evacuate the family – which included a mother, father, their newborn baby, seven-year-old son, three-year-old daughter and two dogs.
The family were then safely taken to a staging area with Santa Barbara County emergency crews.
