On 17 February, the Spanish Air Force’s 43 Group was visited by Edurne García Almagro, the actress, television presenter and singer who represented Spain in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest (she came 21st in the finals with a dramatic performance and mid-song costume change). The visit formed part of filming for the TV show Trabajo temporal (‘Temporary job’).
The singer spent a day performing all the duties and responsibilities of an aerial firefighting flight engineer, including attending a briefing, carrying out maintenance and preflight inspections, and even becoming a crew member during a flight of UD-13T, one of the Group’s Canadair Cl-215 Ts. She was accompanied by 43 Group mechanic Sgt Patricia Navarro, who boasts over 3,000 flight hours onboard the firefighting planes.
And just for fun, here's Edurne's 2015 Eurovision performance.
