The Search Committee of the US-based Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), chaired by past president of AAMS Dr Dan Hankins and AAMS board president Timothy Pickering, has announced that John Fiegel has accepted the position of Interim chief executive officer (CEO) of AAMS.
Dr Hankins reflected: “The Search Committee has been working diligently with our search consultants, Pangburn Partners, LLC, and I am very pleased that we have selected John.”
Fiegel brings a long history of successful interim association management assignments, as well as experience as an association executive. He also served in the US Air Force, in the Pentagon on the Air Staff, in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. His specialties were international affairs, planning, programming and budgeting.
Tim Pickering commented: “This appointment is very important as we work to stay on our timeline to identify our permanent replacement for our executive director. Being able to attract an experienced association executive to lead the association’s management during this interim period is critical to our future success, and I believe we are able to assure our members that AAMS will continue to operate as their association, providing services and benefits throughout this interim period.”
Fiegel will begin his temporary appointment as interim CEO on 15 November.
