Air Methods Corporation announced on 11 April a consolidation of its management responsibilities. As a result of the consolidation, the firm has eliminated the position of chief operating officer (COO) held by Paul H. Tate. The functional areas that reported to the COO have been distributed among the senior executive staff of the organisation. Tate joined Air Methods as COO in March 2008, and previously was a member of the firm’s board of directors since August 2003. Tate will continue to be available to Air Methods periodically as a consultant.
The company said the consolidation will assist in achieving greater quality and improved efficiencies within its operations.
Aaron Todd, chief executive officer, stated: “We are constantly looking for ways to provide greater quality services to our customers, while at the same time improving our efficiencies. We anticipate this realignment will position us well for future success. I want to thank Paul for his contributions and the important role he has played within the company for the last four years. We wish him the best in the future.”
