A new partnership between US-based Carolinas Health System’s MedCenter Air and Air Ambulance Card will provide air ambulance transports for members who sign up with MedCenter Air. Under the new agreement, members who suffer injury or sickness 150 miles or more from home – internationally or domestically – will be flown to a hospital of their choosing onboard a dedicated medical aeroplane. “International flights can cost as much as $150,000,” said Stan Bradley, managing director of Air Ambulance Card. “Members can come home to the Carolinas aboard a MedCenter Air jet and never receive a bill for the transport.” Most health insurance providers in the US will not transport patients to a hospital of their choice.
