Pedestrian airlifted after collision

A man was airlifted after being left critically injured in a collision with a light motor vehicle on the N12 highway, South Africa

A man in his 20s was left critically injured this morning after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the N12 highway near the Kingsway Road in Kingsway, east of Johannesburg, South Africa.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the man lying in the emergency lane at the side of the road. The patient was assessed and found to be in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries. The crew immediately began their treatment and provided the man with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patient was airlifted by the ER24 helicopter to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent care.
