A helicopter crew from RACQ CQ Rescue was on hand to airlift a toddler injured by a quadbike.
A helicopter crew from RACQ CQ Rescue was on hand to airlift an injured toddler from a remote cattle property in the Eungella hinterland on 18 August.
The one-year-old child sustained injuries to her pelvis after her older brother accidently ran her over with a quadbike. An RACQ CQ Rescue spokesperson said it is believed that the accident happened at around 16:00 hrs. The toddler had been standing behind a quadbike when her brother accidently put the vehicle in gear and reversed.
The crew flew a total of 120 nm (222 km) to reach the farm. The crew, which included a doctor and intensive care paramedic, spent 50 minutes on the ground with the child to stabilise her condition before flying her with her mother to Mackay Base Hospital.
