AANI announces two new helicopters
The charity will able to supply coverage 365 days a year across the country.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI) is set to receive two additional air ambulances, meaning the charity will able to supply coverage 365 days a year across the country. The two new aircraft will be supplied by Babcock Mission Critical Services Onshore.
The campaign to raise money for the new helicopters has been going for the last few years, and was brought into the public eye after the tragic death of Dr John Hinds, one of the leading voices in the campaign for more helicopters. The 35-year-old anaesthetist was incredibly highly thought of in the field of trauma medicine.
The new helicopters will be able to reach any part of Northern Ireland in 25 minutes. Babcock will be providing aviation training and pilots for the vehicles.
“Having two air ambulances permanently based in Northern Ireland will significantly reduce maintenance downtime,” said AANI chairman Ian Crowe. “Having one helicopter on duty every day will ensure Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is there for those who need it.”
