It was announced on 22 July that On Call International (On Call), a provider of customised corporate travel assistance, had acquired Rescue Nurse International (RNI), a Colorado, US-based provider of nurse escorts for the transportation of patients on commercial airlines. The acquisition follows many years of close co-operation between the two organisations, and is intended to enhance the standard and quality of care given to patients, and to streamline the delivery of the companies’ respective services.
RNI is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), and in a joint statement On Call and RNI said that the combination of this accreditation and ‘On Call’s nearly 20 years of experience providing life-saving emergency assistance’ can help clients ‘expect to benefit from increased in-house expertise’.
Gaby Bartusiak, founder of RNI, commented: “We are delighted to join such a well-recognised organisation within the travel assistance industry. After years of working closely with On Call, this acquisition was the next logical step for our two companies.”
Michael J. Kelly, CEO of On Call, added: “Having benefited from RNI’s exceptional delivery of medical escort services to our members for years, we decided to integrate their team with ours to further strengthen our services.”
