A man was left critically injured after he fell five metres from a supermarket rooftop in Fochville, South Africa, on 16 March.

ER24 paramedics were returning to their base when they were flagged down by the patient’s colleagues. The man was found lying on the floor, being treated by some first aiders from the supermarket.

On assessment, the paramedics found that the man was in a critical condition, with serious injuries to his head and back. They treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions. He was later airlifted by an ER24 helicopter to a private hospital in Johannesburg for further treatment.
