Jet Rescue introduces Learjet 45XR to Mexico and Latin America

Jet Rescue, an aeromedical provider in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean, has introduced a Learjet 45XR aircraft that is dedicated to providing air ambulance services. The company said the ‘spacious cabin’ would be able to accommodate up to two patients and two family members, and the aircraft is equipped with critical care equipment such as the new Propaq MD and the Dräger Oxilog 3000 ventilator.

Carlos Salinas, president and chief executive officer of Jet Rescue, explained: “We are introducing the next generation of air ambulances in Latin America. With a focus on patient care and safety, we continually look for opportunities to improve the air ambulance industry, especially in places [where] medical care is not as developed, such as Mexico and South America.”

The firm began a search for the best aircraft to replace its Learjet 35 in 2011, said Salinas. He added that the choice to move to the Learjet 45XR was motivated by several factors, including its high-altitude capabilities and extended range, which allow for smoother flights with fewer stops.

The Learjet 45XR also boasts additional passenger comforts such as an onboard lavatory, extra luggage space and seating for family members. Based at Mexico City Airport, the aircraft is also equipped with dual-stretcher capabilities.

Jet Rescue was founded in 2007 and is based in San Diego, California, US, with two satellite bases in Mexico.
