After much discussion, the independent judging panel has selected the shortlisted nominees for each of the 11 award categories. Categories such as the Innovation of the Year award, which is sponsored by Sloane Helicopters, shortlists Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Scottish Ambulance Service, EMRS (north), while the Air Ambulance Pilot of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award give nothing away – the winner of each is to be announced on the night of the ceremony.
Other categories include: Outstanding Young Person Award; Charity Staff Member of the Year; Air Ambulance Paramedic of the Year; Air Ambulance Doctor of the Year; Air Ambulance Campaign of the Year; Charity Volunteer of the Year; Special Incident Award; and Air Operations Support Staff Member of the Year.
Robert Courts, MP for Witney & West Oxfordshire and Chair of the Judging Panel, commented: "The award nominations were of an exceptionally high standard and my fellow judges and I were left with extremely difficult decisions to make. I'm delighted to have been involved in this important opportunity to recognise the sector's commitment and expertise, which is on display every single day across the UK."
